There is something irresistible about an island – always being surrounded by water, that castaway feeling as you gaze out to sea and of course, an excellent range of fresh seafood. Our planet is blessed with so many different kinds of islands – the lush jungles of Mauritius, windswept beaches of Vancouver Island, pretty atolls in the far-flung Pacific and the exotic wildlife of the Galapagos.
Whether you want to spend your honeymoon relaxing on a peaceful beach, hiking through rich forests with views over the ocean or visiting some of the most remote islands in the world – we’ve got you covered. Here are a few of our favourite island honeymoons.

It’s a small ship with first-class service and you’ll have plenty of time to spend on shore explore secluded beaches, snorkel in the magnificent Blue lagoon and visit local Fijian villages. End your holiday with 5 nights in the exclusive, adults-only Likuliku Lagoon Resort for 5 nights. A truly memorable, romantic break you’ll never forget!
Head to the tiny Tuamotu archipelago on this remote French Polynesia honeymoon. Start on the main island of Tahiti, where you’ll take a helicopter flight over tumbling waterfalls and lush mountains. Next you’ll fly to Fakarava, the first of the coral atolls of the Tuamotu Islands where you’ll take an ‘intro dive’ in the pristine lagoon, swimming with reef sharks and tropical fish.
Head over to Rangiroa, where pink beaches, dolphins and a luxurious beach bungalow await before finishing your trip on the castaway island of Tikehau. Stay at the boutique Ninamu Resort - the perfect blend of fresh seafood, white sandbars and sensational snorkelling, with pink Tahitian sunsets thrown in for good measure. Bliss.

She quickly discovered that travelling on your own gives you total freedom to visit where you choose, whenever you choose and so the adventure began. After travelling around Australia and Indochina and spending a couple of years living and working in New Zealand, she returned to the UK. In 2017 with four and a half years travel industry experience in the bag, Charlie joined Travel Nation as a round the world specialist. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying as many festivals as possible.
