At Travel Nation, we’re committed to becoming a more sustainable company and our whole team is getting involved in the journey. We strive to offer responsible trips that are sensitive to wildlife, local communities and the environment, provided by reputable and reliable partners. At home, our office is getting greener by the day as we work to reduce waste and banish all single-use plastics from our door.
There’s no getting around the fact that we specialise in long haul flights and round the world holidays. We understand that air travel is our biggest area of impact, so lowering our carbon footprint is a top priority. At the same time, we wholeheartedly believe that travel is an enriching force for good that can make us better human beings. Our aim is to conserve our remarkable planet as best we can, without putting an end to global travel.
We see it as our responsibility to become part of the green aviation solution, so we’re currently looking for ways to support academic research into alternative fuels. At the same time, we'll discuss the cleanest flying options with our customers and highlight the airlines that are tackling the issue of sustainability. We aim to be at the forefront of an urgent movement to make our industry greener.
We realise that we’ve got a long way to go, but we’re making progress and we’re a very determined team. For us, this isn’t about green-washing, PR headlines or attracting more customers. It’s about stepping up to the plate, being transparent and doing the right thing. As a community of travellers, we’re mad about the planet and passionate about protecting it for generations to come.
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it." - Robert Swan
Carbon offsetting
Right now, we're actively working on ways to support research into green aviation and push for urgent progress. In the current absence of a long-term solution, we offer our customers the chance to make voluntary carbon offsetting contributions via ClimateCare, whose carbon calculator is highly rated and supported by ABTA.
We understand that offsetting isn't the ultimate answer, but it's a step in the right direction and far better than doing nothing at all. You can work out your carbon emissions and offset your flights with ClimateCare using the handy calculator on the right.
