Depart the UK from your chosen airport.
On arrival into Papeete, you will be met and greeted with a flower lei, welcoming you to this beautiful island nation. Your first night will be spent in Tahiti, where you can rest and recover from the long flight, ready for your honeymoon to start properly tomorrow!
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport for the short flight to Tikehau, a tiny atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. On arrival, you will be taken by boat over to the resort and begin your stay in paradise.
Nestled on an islet in the heart of a coconut grove, surrounded by pink sandy beaches, the Tikehau Pearl Resort is waiting for you. Staying in one of their luxury beach bungalows, it’s the perfect place to start your honeymoon – a tranquil and secluded haven.
Diving and snorkelling are popular activities on Tikehau with sightings of reef sharks and manta rays almost commonplace. The vast populations of colourful fish including lionfish, clownfish and parrotfish are the main attraction here and they inhabit an underground wonderland you’ll be keen to explore.
You can take a scenic bike ride around the main islet and visit the picturesque village of Tuherahera, rich in hibiscus and bougainvillaea. The near uninhabited north-eastern side of the island is ripe for exploring; you can head to the long pink beach on the east and snorkel right out from one islet to the next. This remote wonderland is a world away from the crowds of Tahiti and provides the ultimate Polynesian escape for your honeymoon.
Today you will spend the morning taking one last walk around the pink shores of the island, before being taken to the airport for the short flight to Rangiroa, another island in the Tuamotus. On arrival, you’ll be taken by boat to your hotel and check in for four nights.
Home to flat islets and sandbars, rather than mountainous peaks, Rangiroa’s gem is its vast lagoon, so large the island of Tahiti could fit inside! You’ll be staying at Kia Ora Resort & Spa, which is set in the heart of a magnificent coconut plantation. The resort is bordered by a white sand beach and a turquoise lagoon, boasting an elegant and refined architecture in perfect harmony with its environment. Enjoy a dip in your private Jacuzzi with ocean views over the beach before taking a romantic walk along the beach to watch the sun set into the sea.
During your time here you’ll enjoy an Eco Tour & Dolphin Watch excursion – one of the best ways to discover the wonders of Rangiroa. Look for playful dolphins in the pass of Tiputa, follow green turtles as they swim gracefully through the clear water and snorkel amongst the schools of yellow and orange fish. You’ll spend most of your days here out snorkelling and swimming in the beautiful lagoon before returning to the hotel for a sunset dinner of fresh seafood.
After breakfast, you’ll be taken to the airport for your flight to Bora Bora in the Society Islands. On arrival, you’ll be taken by boat to your hotel, where you’ll check in for your final four nights in paradise.
Reaching Bora Bora, you’ll have made it to one of the most romantic islands on the planet. You’ll be staying in an overwater bungalow at the Conrad Bora Bora, tucked away on the western side of To’opua. Few boats venture round here, so you’ll definitely have the privacy and seclusion that you are looking for your dream honeymoon.
We’ve included a romantic trip to a motu for lunch. Specially designed for couples, this excursion will let you discover the local tropical fish, stingrays and black tip sharks from a comfortable boat designed to preserve some intimacy while enjoying the treasures of Bora Bora lagoon. You will then have lunch on a beautiful motu, savouring a Polynesian barbecue on individual tables shaded by a small thatched roof, all of them facing Mont Otemanu. Toast a glass of sparkling wine to a spectacular day exploring Bora Bora.
Returning to the hotel, why not enjoy a couple’s massage at the spa? The views are heavenly, with beautiful vistas of the ocean. Back at your overwater bungalow, you can switch between swimming in the crystalline water and relaxing with a drink on the deck, enjoying each other’s quiet company as your honeymoon draws to a close.
This morning you will be taken by boat back to Bora Bora Airport to fly to Tahiti, where you will catch your international flight home.
The best time to visit French Polynesia is the dry winter period between May and October, the weather is cooler and rainfall is much less. From November to April temperatures rise as the summer rainy season begins bringing humid, cloudy weather and lots of rain. During this time is not uncommon to experience brief, violent storms or torrential rains lasting a few days at a time. Peak season is July and August, Christmas and Easter school holidays meaning prices at this time will be at a premium.
