North America holidays

The North American continent is a dazzling mix of snow-capped mountains and arid deserts. Hike between bright blue lakes in the Canadian Rockies, eat buttery lobster on the Maine coast and hike to the edge of the Grand Canyon. Dance in the streets of New Orleans and explore the autumnal forests of Nova Scotia, each more colourful than the last. We’re experts in this part of the world so we can build you a holiday that you’ll remember for years to come.

Why we love North America...

  • Driving along the Pacific Coast Highway on the California coast
  • Biting into soft beignets in New Orleans
  • Looking for orcas swimming off Vancouver Island
  • Watching the sunset from the top of the Empire State Building

With years of experience in planning self-drive holidays all over the world, we'll organise everything from car rental to accommodation, taking the headache out of arranging your road trip and making sure you get the most out of the experience.

Canada road trips

Scenic drive through Banff National Park

Make a break for the Rocky Mountains, spot grizzly bears in the wilderness, relax on the shores of Lake Louise and eat your body weight in maple syrup. Canada is the ultimate place to get out into the Great Outdoors.

North American national parks holidays

The varied landscapes of North America are shown off to their true majesty in the regions' vast national parks. Watch the sunset behind giant cacti in Saguaro National Park, soar over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter and kayak with seals in California's Channel Islands. Hike through forests to rushing waterfalls in Yosemite and watch bison graze as geysers gush into the sky in Yellowstone. In Canada, the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies are best seen in Banff and Jasper National Parks, while you can find wild coastlines and wind-swept beaches at Pacific Rim in Vancouver Island. These protected pockets of outrageous natural beauty can be found all over the continent and are all ripe for exploring.

City-hopping holidays in North America

North America is packed full of vibrant and thriving cities, from the skyscrapers of the northeast to the laid-back charm of the south. Wander through Boston's historic streets, taste fresh beignets in New Orleans and cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Boogie with the locals in America's music cities - jazz in Chicago, country in Nashville and soul in the cool streets of Memphis. In Canada, European architecture blends with Canadian culture in the endless elegance of Montreal and Quebec. Smaller cities can be just as exciting and sometimes even more intriguing - why not sip an Old Fashioned in Louisville, eat farm-to-fork food in Boulder and learn about Native American culture in Santa Fe.

Round the world holidays including North America

It's almost impossible to plan a round the world holiday without a stop in North America. Many people will only have a few days in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver to begin or end their trip but there is so much more to explore here. Head to Dallas to explore cowboy country in Texas or stopover in Chicago for cheesy pizzas and endless wandering though fascinating art galleries. Take a road trip through the national parks of Utah or take the ferry to Vancouver Island to walk along the wild beaches of Tofino. Los Angeles is the best point to connect across the Pacific, to Hawaii, Fiji and French Polynesia, or head through Houston and Dallas to South America. If you're looking for a round the world adventure, a stop in North America is definitely on the cards.

Hawaii holidays

The islands of Hawaii are truly a paradise - lush peaks, gushing waterfalls and endless golden beaches. The main island of Oahu is bursting with history - from the tragic tales of Pearl Harbour to native Hawaiin legends. In Kauai, you can hike to the vast Waimea Canyon and soar in a helicopter over the rugged Na Pali coastline before heading to the actual island of Hawaii. Known locally as the 'Big Island', this is a spectacular spot for bubbling lava in the Volcanoes National Park and starry skies from the top of Mount Mauna Kea. Over in Maui, drive through the Mars-like landscape of Haleakala National Park and eat fresh pork at an oceanside luau. This is true island living, with a Hawaiian twist.

Rail holidays in North America

North America is one of the best places in the world to explore by train, especially if you want to visit cities. Enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean from the Coastal Starlight as it winds its way to Los Angeles from Washington State. Ride the Rocky Mountaineer through the mountains in British Colombia or hop on the Ocean Train from peaceful Montreal to explore the wild beauty of Nova Scotia. Catch the Crescent Train from central New York to downtown New Orleans or head across the country on the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle. Board the train, settle in and watch the breath-taking landscapes roll on by.

Family holidays in North America

Both the USA and Canada are perfect for a family holiday - so much outdoor space, with endless hiking and cycling, as well as delicious food and easy flight routes. Arranging a family trip needn’t add to your stress. By listening carefully to your ideas, we’ll help you choose the most kid-friendly destinations and suggest the best ways for your children to experience each place - whether that’s kayaking off Vancouver Island or toasting marshmallows over the fire in the wilds of Montana.

Campervan holidays in North America

Few destinations can compare to North America for a campervan holiday. Head out along the Pacific Coast Highway along the rugged Californian shore or road trip down Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. If you really want the wild American experience then this is it, pitch up, roast some marshmallows by the campfire and cosy up in your campervan. In Canada, a campervan trip through the Rockies is a wonderful way to experience the mountains - you can choose to stay longer somewhere you really enjoy and stay in much more remote locations where hotels or lodges are scarce. If you want to discuss which is campervan is best for you, just contact us on 1273 320 580 or request a quote.

Luxury holidays in North America

If you're looking for a luxurious holiday then North America is a wonderful place to explore. Relax in an oceanfront lodge on the Big Sur coastline, sip a cocktail on a rooftop bar in New York City or watch the waves crash on the wild beaches of Tofino from your beachfront room. Plan a retreat to Newfoundland's remote Fogo Island Inn where striking contemporary design is paired with and a cosy interior of handcrafted furniture and local textiles. We can organise a convertible car hire - there's nothing more satisfying than soaring along a coastal road, with the wind in your hair after a wonderful night in a luxurious hotel.

North American wildlife holidays

North America is awash with exciting wildlife. Look for moose in the forests of New England, snorkel with colourful fish in the warm waters of Key West and watch bison graze in the plains of South Dakota. Watch for cougars in the mountains of Montana, spot bears roaming the wild coast of British Colombia and hear wolves howling in the wilds of Yellowstone National Park. Heading to the coast, you can kayak with orcas in the coves of Vancouver Island and watch humpbacks leap from the depths in the waters off Cape Cod or California. It's not just big mammals that make this a great wildlife destination - look for scurrying chipmunks in Yosemite and hummingbirds flitting through the air in Santa Barbara.
