Day 1: Depart UK

Depart the UK from your chosen airport.

Day 2: Arrive Ubud

On arrival in Bali, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Ubud, where you will check in for four nights. You'll be staying at the Hanging Gardens of Bali, hidden in the lush jungle valleys near Ubud. Famous for its spectacular tiered infinity pool that appears to float above the rainforest, you'll spend the next few days enjoying this serene retreat.

Days 3 - 5: Ubud

Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali; full of local galleries, traditional jewellers and tiny restaurants serving up delicious Balinese delights. Spend the morning exploring the city – make sure you visit the pretty Water Temple - before heading back to your hotel, set in the lush green paddy fields that surround Ubud.

You could easily devote a whole afternoon to wandering the rice fields, watching the farmers plough through the water and ducks waddling along the edge of the pools. But make sure you’ve reached the village of Petulu by dusk so you can witness the white herons descending on the trees to roost through the night. Ubud is also a great place to try a cooking class – learning to whip up a bowl of traditional Indonesia nasi goreng will be a good idea once you’re home and missing all the tasty Indonesian food - so if you’d like us to book one for you, just ask!

Day 6: Fly to Sumba

After breakfast, you'll be driven to the airport for the short flight to Tambolaka on Sumba Isand, where you'll be met and driven to the hotel. You'll be staying at Nihi Sumba, where barefoot luxury and authentic island culture combine at this spectacular villa hotel. Individual villas are scattered along the hillside, with sweeping views of the ocean and wild beaches just begging to be explored. 

You'll be staying in a one bedroom villa, with your own pool, just perfect for lazy afternoons in your own private paradise. Enjoy leisurely breakfasts overlooking the ocean, seafood lunches with your feet in the sand and tucking into Indonesian flavours each evening. Whether you're surfing, horse riding along the beach or relaxing by the pool, get ready for a few days of pure luxury.

Day 7: Nihi Sumba - Blue Waterfall

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a short trek to the Blue waterfalls. You'll drive to Matayangu and enjoy the breath-taking views of the Wanakuka Valley along the way. Hike through the national park forest down to the blue lagoon and take a dip in the waterfall basin as the trail emerges from the jungle. Your guide will prepare a delicious picnic lunch while you swim, ready to feast on before heading back to enjoy the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 8: Nihi Sumba - Spa Safari Nihioka 

Today, you'll enjoy the signature spa safari at Nihi Sumba. Start the day with a coastal trek, a horseback ride or a drive in an open-air vehicle, across the Sumba's dramatic coastline to the Nihioka Valley. You'll be welcomed to the spa with a cool towel and a fresh coconut, enjoying a nourishing breakfast on the treehouse platform, looking out over the ocean. Once you're ready, you'll spend the rest of the day enjoying unlimited treatments, from full body massages and cooling wraps to organic facials and foot reflexology. Let yourself unwind by the infinity pool, stroll along the wild beach or relaxing beneath the palms between treatments.

Days 9 - 11: Nihi Sumba

Spend a few days at your leisure, enjoying the spectacular location and activities on offer at Nihi Sumba. You can as active or relaxed as you choose - why not head out for a sunrise horse ride along the beach or explore traditional Sumbanese villages across the island. You could try your hand at surfing, or simply unwind at your private village, where you can enjoy long lunches with ocean views, sunset cocktails and peaceful dinners under the stars as the Indian Ocean laps at the shore.

Day 12: Depart Sumba

After breakfast, you'll be driven back to the airport for your international flight home.
