Arrive in Denpasar on the island of Bali this morning where you will be greeted by a private driver and taken to your hotel in Ubud.
Considered the ‘cultural heart’ of Bali, Ubud is home to many Buddhist temples, lush rice paddies and forest as well as traditional architecture. With a laidback vibe, Ubud offers the perfect beginning to your Balinese escape. Your hotel is located near to the town centre so whenever you’re ready to leave the tranquillity of your villa it will be easy to explore the local shops and cafes, or wander down one of the side streets into the surrounding rice paddies for a closer glimpse of traditional Balinese life.
A private transfer will collect you this morning and take you to the airport to connect with your flight over to the island of Lombok. After a short domestic flight, you’ll be met and taken by private transfer over to the small island of Gili Trawangan, located just off the coast of Lombok.
Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three Gili Islands but is still very small and quaint; a walk around it’s perimeter will take you just over an hour. You’ll find this island very safe for families, with no traffic as motorised vehicles are not allowed on the island. Get ready to be escorted to your hotel by horse and cart, the only local means of transportation and a pretty special way of getting to your hotel!
The rest of the day is at leisure.
The next few days are yours to enjoy however you choose. Take a stroll around the island, visit the baby turtles at the mini sanctuary on the beach or head out for a swim from the beach with your snorkel in hand to watch giant turtles swimming right off the coast - a once in a lifetime thrill for parents and kids alike!

High season in Bali runs from Jul to August & December, with hotels becoming much more expensive particularly over the Christmas & New Year period. May, June & September bring good weather, drier and less humid and is a good time for diving. Jan to April & Oct to Nov is technically rainy season although rainfall is never excessive and the sun shines on, all activities can be done during this time excluding volcano treks.
