Why not add in a stopover?
You can travel to Chile all year round, however, between mid-December and the beginning of March is the Altiplano Winter in the Atacama, and the weather can be more unstable. In Patagonia, the weather is changeable all year round, and you can experience the four seasons in one day. For the chance of longer daylight and higher temperatures, avoid the winter between late May and late August.
