Nowadays, the peninsula has become a popular destination with the international jet-set but still retains much of the charm of its origin as a fishing village. There are plenty of secluded beaches and spots for a romantic getaway.

For more beach fun, you’ll head to the charming fishing village of Trancoso in northeastern Brazil, on a beautiful old coconut plantation.
