Your Canada road trip and Rocky Mountaineer holiday begins with a couple of days to explore Calgary, before driving on to the pretty Alpine town of Banff for a scenic gondola ride and a relaxing soak in the hot mineral springs.
From Banff, you’ll make your way to Lake Louise along a route with both plenty of photo opportunities and places to stop and snap. Driving along the spine of the Canadian Rockies to the Icefields Parkway, you’ll enjoy some of Canada’s most spectacular scenery, including Peyto Lake, which is a ‘must-see’.
At the Colombia Icefield – get out on the Athabasca glacier for yourself with the included ride on the ‘Ice Explorer’. Continue on to Jasper, paying a visit to Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world
Finally, you’ll board the Rocky Mountaineer, and glide through canyons, past waterfalls and the highest peak in the Rockies, before arriving in Vancouver for a few days exploring the city.

Depart the UK this morning from your chosen airport. On arrival into Calgary you’ll be greeted and transferred by private car to your hotel.

Today is at leisure for you to explore Calgary.
This morning you’ll collect your car and begin your self-drive adventure. The drive to Banff should only take around 2 hours.
Afternoon at leisure in Banff.
You have a full day here to explore this beautiful alpine town and its surroundings. We’ve included a trip on the Banff Gondola from where you’ll have panoramic views of the Bow Valley before heading to the hot minerals springs for a relaxing soak after your day exploring.
It’s a nice leisurely drive today along the Bow Valley Parkway. This low-speed road is full of scenic lookouts and places to pull in for photographs, so make sure you make the most of this scenic route.
On arrival into Lake Louise check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Today you’ll travel through the spine of the Canadian Rockies along the spectacular Icefields Parkway with some of the best scenery you’ll encounter on your trip. Peyto Lake is must-see, so make sure you stop along the way.
We’ve included a ride on the ‘Ice Explorer’ (a specialist vehicle that can travel over the glacier) at the Columbia Icefield. After riding out onto the glacier and experiencing the glacier, you’ll continue on your journey to Jasper.
Day at leisure. If you’re up for exploring, take a tram ride up Whistlers Mountain or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world.
Return your rental car this afternoon.
You’ll be collected this morning and taken to the train station to board the Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops.
You’ll pass Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and follow the Thompson River before arriving in Kamloops, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel.
After breakfast you’ll be collected and board the train bound for Vancouver.
Today you’ll pass through Rainbow Canyon and then on to Fraser Canyon where at Hells Gate you can watch the water torrent past the canyon walls. You’ll arrival in Vancouver late afternoon where you’ll be met and taken to your hotel.
You have two days to explore the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver at your own pace. Take a stroll around Stanley Park, climb up Grouse Mountain or enjoy some shopping down town.
You’ll be collected from your hotel for your private transfer to the airport for your flight home.
You will arrive back into the UK today to complete your holiday.
