Depart the UK from your chosen airport. You'll arrive in Vancouver later the same day - you'll be met at the airport and driven into the city, checking into your hotel for three nights.
Vancouver is a fresh, outdoors-y city – no matter the weather you’ll want to get outside and explore. Start in Gastown, where you can roam the historic streets popping into tiny art galleries and boutique shops before moving on to Chinatown where you can introduce the kids to a delicious dim sum lunch. After taking in these two iconic neighbourhoods, head to Stanley Park for the afternoon. The best way to get around is cycling, so why not rent a bike head to see the colourful totem poles at Brockton Point or English Bay Beach to relax in the sun?
There are plenty of museums to enjoy if you are interested in the history of this region - the Museum of Anthropology is especially good for First Nations artefacts. Getting out of the city here is easy – make sure you visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge as it hangs precariously over the river in the North Shore.
On your second day, we’ve included a seaplane flight over the city. This will give you an awesome view of the north shore, Grouse Mountain and the whole city centre. On a clear day, you’ll even get great views of the Olympic Mountains over the border in Washington State.
Today you'll head off to star some luxury lodge hopping around the spectacular coastline of British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Hop into a floatplane from the harbour and soar off to the beautiful Sonora Island, a jewel amidst the wild beauty of the west coast. On arrival, you'll get settled and explore the resort at your leisure, before enjoying a delicious gourmet dinner of Pacific northwest cuisine.
Sonora Resort is a Relais & Chateaux luxury resort, set amongst the towering trees and lapping waves of the British Columbian coastline. Spend your time here reconnecting with nature, taking guided boat tours, looking for grizzly bears, kayaking through the deep blue water, and hiking through the rainforest. Fishing is one of the key experiences at the resort - you can enjoy heli-fly-fishing, river fly-fishing and salmon fishing available. Settle into a few days of exceptional service, breath-taking outdoor adventures and sensational food - if you have a successful day fishing then why not have your catch prepared just the way you like it!
After breakfast, you'll hop back into the floatplane for the scenic 30 minute flight over Vancouver Island to Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge on the Bedwell River. Known for its remote rainforest location, where untouched coastal scenery meets refined luxury, you'll be staying in relaxed safari‑style canvas tents that combine plush furnishings, wood‑burning stoves and elegant bathrooms that allow you to feel fully immersed in nature while enjoying exceptional comfort. You'll be staying in a Waterfront Deluxe tent, with views out over the shimmering river and spectacular sunrises each morning through the mists. In the evening, after you've settled in and explored the resort, you'll sit down to design your personal adventure for the next few days. You'll never have to sign up for particular activities in advance, you'll just get to decide each evening what to do the next day.
Continue your outdoor adventures at Clayoquot where luxury is woven into every aspect of your time here. Whether you're relaxing in your waterfront tent or heading out to enjoy some of the incredible included experiences - bear and whale watching, horse-riding along coastal trails, kayaking or fly-fishing - every moment here has been curated perfectly. Gourmet dining for every meal shows off the best ingredients of Vancouver Island, with fresh fish and seafood pairing perfectly with sensational wines.
We've also included the legendary Sip to Sky experience, a helicopter journey that takes you from the lodge and carries you high above the lakes, forests and waterfalls below to a remote alpine location, where an afternoon of bliss awaits. Sipping exceptional champagne while surrounded by soaring peaks and absolute silence will be something you never forget - a truly awe-inspiring experience.
It's time to say goodbye to the coastal wilderness and head back by floatplane to Vancouver. On your return, you'll head back to your hotel for one night, enjoying a final afternoon and evening in the city. If you love food then why not head down to Granville Island Public Market, where you can browse the stalls, picking up all sorts of goodies from local BC cherries to freshly-baked pastries.
Enjoy a final stroll around the harbour before being driven back to the airport for your flight home, after an incredible holiday hopping between luxury lodges on British Columbia's incredible coastline.
The Canadian summer runs from mid-May to early-September, offering little rainfall and warm temperatures. It’s great for outdoor activities so tourism peaks in summer. Spring is pleasant, as the cherry blossoms bloom and the winter clouds make way for sunny skies. Temperatures drop during Autumn, bringing chilly days and increased rainfall. Winter in Canada may only appeal to the brave, but British Columbia has the mildest winters in the country and the close proximity to some world-class skiing brings a fair number of outdoor enthusiasts.
