This part of the tour will be longer, taking around 4 or 5 hours, as you will walk along the edge of the falls into their very heart at Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s throat). Santiago and Buenos Aires can be visited all year round but the colder season will be from June to September, so pack for chilly weather if you’re travelling over this period. The rainy season at Iguazu Falls runs from October to March and the high water levels mean that the falls will be at their most impressive. However, heavy rains can lead to some trails being closed and the skies may be a little cloudy. May to August is considered the dry season – which means you have a good chance of seeing the falls under blue skies. Water levels and temperatures will be a little lower though and do remember that rain can fall year round.
