The Chilean capital, Santiago will surprise you with its energy and sophistication; Buenos Aires will get under your skin with its faded European grandeur and lively Latin spirit. Next, after a visit to the thundering Iguazu Falls, Rio will captivate you with lush green forests, vast mountains, and shimmering beaches, all fuelled by samba music and nightlife.

During this trip, you will spend a few nights in each city, and we have included day tours for you to discover the cultural and natural beauty of these capitals. This itinerary also features a two-night stay in Iguazu Falls. Located between Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, it forms the perfect stopover between the two cities.

Santiago and Buenos Aires can be visited all year round but the colder season will be from June to September, so pack for chilly weather if you’re travelling over this period. The rainy season at Iguazu Falls runs from October to March and the high water levels mean that the falls will be at their most impressive. However, heavy rains can lead to some trails being closed and the skies may be a little cloudy.  May to August is considered the dry season – which means you have a good chance of seeing the falls under blue skies.  Water levels and temperatures will be a little lower though and do remember that rain can fall year round.
