A luxury self-drive holiday that gives you a few days to explore the beachside suburb of Fremantle, followed by a two weeks of luxury campervan hire. Far less busy than Australia's east coast, look forward to secluded beaches and wildlife spotting as you travel either north towards the Pinnacles, Ningaloo reef and the Coral Coast or south towards Margaret River, Denmark and Albany – the choice is yours.
We’ve based this on a couple taking a two berth motorhome, but it will also suit a family looking for a blend of adventure and relaxation. This itinerary can be tailored to suit your requirements, please contact one of our consultants to start planning your dream trip. Finish your trip with two nights on Rottnest Island in a beachfront glamping tent, where you can look for quokkas, swim in the turquoise water and cycle around this pretty island.
Depart the UK from your chosen airport.
On arrival in Perth, you’ll be met and transferred by private car to your hotel where you’ll check in for a 3-night stay.
Spend a couple of days enjoying the lovely suburb of Fremantle. Full of quirky shops, delicious restaurants and bustling beaches, Fremantle has a very cool vibe and is the perfect place to spend your final day in Western Australia. Stop in at the WA Shipwrecks Museum, where you can see the Batavia shipwreck, as well as learning about the history of this iconic but dangerous coastline.
Sip cold ales at Little Creatures Brewery, shop for souvenirs in Fremantle Market, tour the World Heritage Fremantle Gaol and take a ride on the famous Ferris wheel in Esplanade Park. Finish your final night with Asian street-food on Bathers Beach, where you can sip a Matso’s Mango beer and watch the sun set on the end of your dreamy Perth to Esperance road trip.
Pick up your motorhome in Perth and spend the next 12 nights on the road. We can help recommend an itinerary, or you can see where the road takes you. Your van will come with maps and motorhome park listings.
The southern routes will take you towards the Margaret River region which will suit food and wine enthusiast. Continue south to Denmark and Albany, and you'll encounter pristine forests and the Southern Ocean. If you begin heading head north from Perth, you'll reach Monkey Mia where you can spot dolphins. There's so much to see along Western Australia's less-visited, but utterly spectacular coastline.
Return your motorhome in Perth today before heading to the harbour to hop on the ferry to Rottnest Island. You’ll be staying at Discovery Rottnest, a glamping property on the island. You’ll be sleeping in the best tent there is, with a large deck and a barbecue. Discovery Rottnest is right in front of Pinky’s Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It’s also next door to the Basin, a huge bay with clear blue water, which is perfect for snorkelling and swimming.
Included: Ferry, bike hire, 4* glamping lodge
Today is yours to explore Rottnest Island. Why not hire a bike, pop your snorkel and fins in your bag and head off to discover the island? There are 63 spectacular beaches to explore but our favourite's are Little Parakeet Bay, Ricey Beach and Little Salmon Bay. You can also kayak along Pinky’s Beach and relax in the warm shallow waters of Porpoise Bay.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the happy quokkas, the tiny local marsupials that have made Rottnest their home. You won’t need to go out of your way to meet the little animals – you’ll find them munching on berries in the shade of the trees or lurking behind fishermen in search of a snack. They are very friendly and cheeky, but you mustn’t feed them – hard to resist as they are so cute!
This morning you'll head back to the ferry terminal for the short journey back to Fremantle, where you'll be met and driven to the airport for your flight home.
