Tahiti, Tikehau & Bora Bora overwater bungalow experience

Itinerary in brief:

• 1 night Tahiti
• 3 nights Tikehau
• 3 nights Bora Bora

Day 1: Arrive Papeete

On arrival into Papeete, on Tahiti, you’ll be greeted with a traditional welcome ‘lei’ (flower garland) and taken by shared transfer to your hotel where you will check in for a one night stay. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Days 2 - 4: Tikehau

This morning, you’ll be collected and taken back to the airport to connect with your domestic flight to Tikehau, a tiny atoll in the vast Tuamotu Islands

Nestled on an islet in the heart of a coconut grove, surrounded by pink sandy beaches, the Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts is waiting for you. Staying in one of their luxury overwater bungalows, it’s the perfect place to start your honeymoon – a tranquil and secluded haven.

Diving and snorkelling are popular activities on Tikehau with sightings of reef sharks and manta rays almost commonplace. The vast populations of colourful fish including lionfish, clownfish and parrotfish are the main attraction here and they inhabit an underground wonderland you’ll be keen to explore.

You can take a scenic bike ride around the main islet and visit the picturesque village of Tuherahera, rich in hibiscus and bougainvillaea. The near uninhabited north-eastern side of the island is ripe for exploring; you can head to the long pink beach on the east and snorkel right out from one islet to the next. This remote wonderland is a world away from the crowds of Tahiti and provides the ultimate Polynesian escape.

Days 5 - 7: Bora Bora

After your stay in Tikehau, it’s time for a bit more luxury as you make your way over to Bora Bora. Your domestic flight is included, and on arrival, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel to check in for a 3-night stay in a Bora Bora overwater bungalow.

Arguably the most famous of all the French Polynesian islands, Bora Bora is renowned for being a honeymooner’s paradise, and it’s not hard to see why - its vibrant turquoise lagoon, white sands and stunning views of Mount Otemanu are genuinely captivating. You'll be staying at the Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, set on a private motu with spectacular views over the Otemanu peak, where you can unwind at the Tavai Spa, enjoy sunset cocktails or dive right into the water from your overwater bungalow. 

Day 8: Depart Bora Bora

You will be collected at any time today and taken by shared transfer to the airport to connect with your domestic flight back to Tahiti and your onward travel plans.
