You’ll start with some time to explore colonial La Paz, the world’s highest capital, before heading over to Sun Island, the birthplace of the Inca Empire. As you cruise, enjoy the contrasts of the blue lake waters against the towering, snow-capped peaks of the Andes.
Next, you’ll fly from La Paz to Uyuni where you’ll explore the gleaming, crystallised salt pans of Uyuni - the world’s largest salt flat. Enjoy a unique stay under the endless starry skies with a night in a boutique Airstream Camper with meals prepared just for you!
Finish your trip back in La Paz, with a leisurely afternoon reminiscing on memories of Bolivia that will last a lifetime.

On arrival in La Paz, you’ll be driven to your hotel where you will check in for a 1-night stay. You will have the rest of the day to acclimatise to the city – the highest capital in the world!
In the afternoon, we’ve included a private, guided tour of La Paz and its most famous landmarks so you can get orientated quickly. The tour includes a scenic cable car ride that offers stunning aerial views of the capital and the peaks of the Andes that surround it.
You will be collected from your hotel in the morning and taken to Huatajata, where you will board a hydrofoil over to the Sun Island. At the southern end of Lake Titicaca, Sun Island is thought to be the birthplace of the Inca Empire and its home to many interesting ruins from this era. We’ve included a guided visit and lunch, then you’ll stay the night in a lovely hotel with dinner.
After breakfast, you have the morning free to relax or take a walk and explore. Around noon, you’ll be guided to the Inca Grand Stairs and the Sacred Fountain where you can taste the waters believed to give eternal youth and happiness!
Lunch will be included at Uma Kollu archaeological restaurant and afterwards, you can visit the small handicraft market to pick up some local souvenirs. Next, you’ll board a hydrofoil cruise over to Moon Island, so you can explore the Sun Virgin’s Temple Iñak Uyu. Your journey will continue to Copacabana for a visit to the shrine to the Virgin of Copacabana, the patron saint of Bolivia, followed by the handicrafts village. From here, you’ll be driven to La Paz where you will spend the night.
This morning you’ll be collected from your hotel after breakfast and driven to the airport for your flight from La Paz to Uyuni, close to the famous salt flats. Tonight you’ll experience something truly unique; a boutique stay in an Airstream camper, right on the salt flats!
When you land, you will be taken on an excursion to the Uyuni Salt Lake and Isla Pescado. Located high in the Andes in the arid region of the Bolivian Altiplano, Uyuni is the largest salt flat on the earth – a remarkable sight. You’ll be able to see surreal pentagons of crystallised, pure white salt set against the brilliant blue sky and as you explore, the green lagoons and clouds of pink flamingos make up one of the most incredible and colourful landscapes you can imagine.
Lunch will be served in your Airstream Camper and tonight you get to fall asleep and awaken in the midst of this spectacular setting from your van.
In the afternoon, you will be driven to the small village of Tahua at the foot of the Tunupa volcano, close to the salt flats. Here you can take a stroll through the village and take a short hike into a cave of the Coquesa Mummies – a fascinating little detour!
Later in the afternoon, you’ll be taken back to the AirStream Camper and be welcomed with a cocktail and a delicious dinner, freshly prepared for you. You can look forward to another wonderful night of rest under the starry skies of Uyuni.
In the morning you’ll be collected and taken by private transfer to Uyuni for your flight to La Paz. Once landed you will be driven by private transfer to your hotel where you will check in to your hotel for a 1-night stay.
You will be collected from your hotel in the morning and taken to La Paz airport to connect with your onward travel plans.
May to October might be the best season for this itinerary if you want clear blue skies and drier conditions, however, bear in mind that it is also the time when temperatures will be lower especially at night in the highlands and the desert.
