Spend time in Arenal National Park, home to the spectacular and active Arenal Volcano. Meet the local wildlife as you walk along suspended bridges in the rainforest canopy before relaxing in the natural hot springs renowned for their healing properties. Search for sloths and monkeys as you walk along nature trails and chill out on white sand beaches in Manuel Antonio National Park.

On arrival you will be greeted by a local representative and taken to your hotel in San Jose.
The remainder of the day is at leisure.
You will be collected after breakfast to embark on a full day Arenal Volcano and hot springs tour.
Arenal Volcano is currently in a resting phase but continues to be Costa Rica’s most active volcano, at 5437 feet this imposing natural phenomenon sits in the midst of pastured green hillsides. As you travel to La Fortuna in your group you will pass by tropical crops, cattle ranches and even get the chance to stop at Sarchi, the county’s most famous crafts and souvenirs town.
After lunch in a restaurant overlooking the volcano you will continue to Arenal Lake. To end the afternoon you will head to Tabacon Resort’s natural, thermal springs; filled with water that has been heated through the earth. Relax in the cascading waterfalls and river pools as the high mineral content in the water is proven to have healing properties. It’s an ideal way to relax and heal tired muscles - perfect after a busy days exploring!
We have included a morning tour today, perfect for nature lovers. You will be collected from the hotel to join a group tour heading out to Sky Adventure, located in the Arenal Rainforest. Here you will combine a hike through the lush rainforest with walks along the suspended bridges. Built to help biologists learn more about the rainforest these bridges get you up close to the ecosystem that exists in the canopy. Away from the dark rainforest floor here you can witness an abundance of leaves, fruit and seeds that attract various local wildlife.
You will be returned to your hotel after the tour, the rest of the day is at leisure.
A shuttle bus transfer will take you from Arenal to Manuel Antonio after breakfast today.
This 5 hour drive takes you south along the Central Pacific coastline to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Forest covered hills provide the landscape and white sand beaches, rivers and rainforests as well as the hot and humid climate attract many visitors to the area. The Manuel Antonio National Park is home to the White Faced Mantled Howler Monkey & Red-backed Squirrel Monkey, Two and Three Toed Sloths as well as a number of bird species and is a wildlife lover’s dream!
On arrival you will check in to your hotel and have the rest of day at leisure.
Today we’ve included a shared guided tour to Manuel Antonio National Park.
You’ll be collected after breakfast and taken to the park where you can witness sloths and monkeys moving through the rainforest canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and listen to the bird song as you take a 2.5 hour nature walk through the local flora and fauna.
Once the tour is finished you can do some additional hikes or head to the pristine unspoilt beaches for a relaxing afternoon by the ocean.
After breakfast at the hotel the rest of the morning is free at leisure.
In the afternoon your shared shuttle transfer will pick you up for the 5 hour journey back to San Jose.
A private driver will collect your from your hotel after breakfast this morning and drive you to the airport for your onward journey.
Costa Rica enjoys their summer season from December through to April. The obvious attraction at this time is the great weather! Another plus is the ocean swells, which mean bigger surf for all you surfers out there. It is peak season however so bear this in mind as accommodation may be tight on availability and prices will be higher.
Winter runs May to November and is when the rains fall, hence the nickname the ‘Green Season’; prices can as much as half though and the crowds have dispersed so it can be a great time to visit. Note travel in some areas may slow right down or not be possible so it’s worth checking your route before booking flights
