Spend 4 nights discovering the heart of Balinese culture in the city of Ubud. Known as a hub of cultural influence, Ubud is home to traditional architecture and is surrounded by traditional, stepped rice fields. With great restaurants, cafes and shops and a funky local art scene you can look forward to a relaxing stay with plenty of things to explore. Take a short stroll out of Ubud into the surrounding rice paddies and you’ll be immersed in a different side of Balinese life, watching the locals plough fields and harvest rice. On arrival in Denpasar you will be greeted and driven by private car to your hotel in Ubud.
The drive takes around an hour, so enjoy watching the local life pass you by as your travel inland to the small town of Ubud.
On arrival check into you hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure.
You now have two full days to explore this area. Why not head into the town and see local artisans at work, sample local delicacies in one of the many restaurants and cafes or stroll out of the city, with views over stepped rice fields?
Today we’ve included a full-day, private guided tour to ensure you feel fully relaxed before your departure tomorrow.
This morning, follow a qualified herbal guide through Ubud’s rice fields and ravines to discover local herbs and plants. Learn about the wealth of natural remedies that are native to this region and the ancient techniques and practises of traditional Balinese healing.
After a healthy lunch it’s time to head to a local spa where you can enjoy a soothing massage in serene tropical surroundings. Your driver will take you back to your hotel at the end of the tour.
After breakfast you will be collected by a private car and taken to Denpasar airport to connect for your onward journey.
Ubud’s dry season runs from May through to September. It can still rain occasionally during this time but this is the best time to explore the region. August is an extremely busy month so can bring high rates and limited availability. Crowds are fewer in April & October and can be a great time to visit if you prefer to avoid busy season.
