    Day 25: Arrive UK

The Pacific Northwest is famously rainy but, in reality, this area has cold, snowy winters and mild, pleasant summers. The coast can get foggy out of nowhere but when the sun shines you’ll be hard-pressed to find a nicer climate in the USA. There’s no need to plan for a constant deluge but keep an umbrella handy.

The best time to visit French Polynesia is the dry winter period between May and October, the weather is cooler, and rainfall is much less. From November to April temperatures rise as the summer rainy season begins bringing humid, cloudy weather and lots of rain. During this time is not uncommon to experience brief, violent storms or torrential rains lasting a few days at a time. Peak season is July and August, Christmas and Easter school holidays meaning prices at this time will be at a premium.

Peak season in Sydney is Dec-Feb at the height of summer, during this time temperatures can reach the high 30s or beyond. Christmas and New Year are popular times to visit and must be booked well in advance, prices will be at a premium. March-May and Oct-Nov are shoulder seasons with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. Sydney is a year-round destination however, with lots of activities that run every day.

The Maldives catches the monsoon from Sri Lanka, meaning the wet season lasts from May to October, noticeably different from the dry season between November and April when prices are higher but the sun shines all day long. The temperature is consistent all year long, generally somewhere between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.
