Yala National Park, Sri Lanka, Asia
Wild Coast Tented Lodge is one of Sri Lanka's most luxury safari properties, dramatically positioned on the edge of Yala National Park, where the dense jungle meets the rugged Indian Ocean coastline. The lodge is a Relais & Chateaux property and the unique rooms boast vaulted ceilings that offer jungle views from the double-height double glazed facades. The décor is a combination of colonial expedition-style and contemporary design, perfect for honeymooners on safari. Relaxing in your room, you'll enjoy a romantic four-poster bed and a free-standing handmade copper bathtub.
What makes Wild Coast Tented Lodge so truly special, is the chance to combine a wildlife experience with a luxurious beach escape. Spend your mornings enjoying guided game drives through the national park, known for having the highest densities of leopards in the world, whilst keeping your eyes peeled for elephants, sloth bears and crocodiles. Back at the lodge, relax by the beautiful pool overlooking the ocean and enjoy some exceptional Sri Lankan cuisine. In the evenings, sit back and relax with a drink at the Ten Tuskers Bar, or, for something unforgettable, we can arrange a private dinner on the beach under the stars.
The ideal time to visit this region is between December and April, during the drier months on the south coast of Sri Lanka. The weather is typically warm and sunny then, with great conditions for game drives and outdoor dining. It also helps that animals gather around water sources and the vegetation becomes less dense, so wildlife viewing is particularly good at this time of year.
