Duration: 8 days
Begins: Dubrovnik
Ends: Split
Trip Code: ECVD
Allow USD250-325 for meals not included. Basic items on board will be covered by a food kitty of about USD70 per person.
This itinerary may need to change due to inclement weather conditions. This decision will be made solely at your skipper's discretion, based on the safety of the group and the yacht.
Arrival day. Join the group at 4pm for a welcome meeting and safety briefing before beginning the sailing journey to Split. Enjoy a nightcap with crew mates on the boat and get to know fellow passengers.
Arrive at the meeting point before 4pm for an important group meeting where you will meet the Chief Experience Officer (CEO), skipper, and the other group members. The boat will be departing soon after the arrival meeting.
On our Croatia sailing trip the G Adventures Skipper/CEO will help you make a food kitty, where 500 HRK (Croatian Kuna) per person, per week will be added to the kitty for small food items on board to cover breakfasts, lunches and the odd dinner.
Breakfasts and lunches are prepared by yourself, and most dinners are taken ashore at local restaurants.
The adventure begins today. Feel free to explore, but make sure you're back in time to meet the group. Your G Representative will review the details of your tour.
Get into the thick of things swiftly aboard one of our sharp-looking yachts.
While traveling the Dalmatian coast by sailboat, explore ancient Roman ruins and discover secluded beaches. Opt to hike through the national park in Mljet that inspired Odysseus for years or take a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Dubrovnik, which offer insight into Croatian culture and architecture. Anchor in the quiet bay of Milna, Hvar, and opt to experience the vibrant night life on land. Explore the beaches as the tide comes in and shifts their shape. Enjoy free time to explore the Mediterranean port town of Dubrovnik. The city boasts plenty of churches, monasteries, fountains, and plazas to discover.
Our 15m (50 ft) nimble yacht is the perfect platform to explore the gorgeous Adriatic islands. Flexibility is key to adapt to local weather conditions, and the skipper will modify the itinerary to our advantage while sailing. Possible stops include: Brač, Mljet, Korčula, and Hvar.
Stay active on Mljet, well known for being a perfect place for hiking, biking, and swimming. Soak in the island's stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere. This lushly forested island is so seductive, it's said that Odysseus came and stayed for seven years. Take a guided tour of the Mljet National Park, or bask in the green waters by the rocks.
Head to Brač Island to explore its coastline and beaches, and play in crystal clear waters. Have a barbeque lunch on a deserted beach, visit local vineyards, or go for a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean Sea. Be sure to visit the island's well-known Zlanti Rat beach, where the tides, currents, and wind are constantly shifting the shape of the beach.
Head out to explore Hvar, a definite must-see and UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy some amazing beaches, nightlife, pop and classical music concerts, and festivals in the city that have inspired many Croatian writers and artists. This island truly has it all!
Ride across the water to Marco Polo’s place of birth, Korčula, a typical medieval walled Dalmatian city and one of the Adriatic’s most lush green islands. Indulge yourself on this historic island and forget about the world around you. Discover the caves and secluded beaches that make this an attractive destination for exploration.
Explore the 16th century fortress that looks over the city of Hvar. Tour the interior and see some of the artifacts on display like the canon. Climb hundreds of stairs to reach the top for an incredible panoramic view of the city, nearby islands, and the ocean.
Tour the lush interior of Hvar island, starting at the ancient settlement of Starigrad. Explore this settlement, founded by the Greeks in 4th century BC, before making your way back to Hvar. Keep an eye out along the road back for examples of unique local architecture in the many villages that dot the country side.
The Island of Vis has been an important stronghold for countless generals for millennia. Though peace now reigns on the island, there still exists a multitude of landmarks left over, such as gun emplacements and a large network of secret tunnels dug by the Yugoslav army. This tour will take you across the island with guided stops at all the must-see attractions.
Make land in the lush seaside village of Trstenik, home to some of Croatia's most renowned wineries. It's hard to find a bad bottle of wine from the many outfits that call this village home, so take a taste tour and make note of your favorites, as you'll be sure to find many of these when returning home.
Visit the natural wonder that is Mljet National Park. Covering the entire north west portion of Mljet island, there is a multitude of hiking trails and mountains to explore. For those looking to expand their adventures, bikes can be rented for 70 HRK for 4 hours, double kayaks for 60 HRK or a single canoe for 40 HRK.
Visit one of the most iconic caves on the entire Adriatic Sea. Enter from either the land or a tunnel from the sea, and marvel at the bright spectrum of colors created by the sun refracting into the water from outside. Explore the large vault of the cave, and take a swim in its refreshing waters before you leave.
