On arrival into Cairns Airport, you will be met and taken by private transfer to Port Douglas, only an hour’s drive further up the coast. After check-in, the day is yours to relax and explore the area.
We’ve included a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef today and what better way to see this celebrated sight than from the comfort of a luxury sailing catamaran? Enjoy morning tea on board as you make your way out to sea before stopping at key snorkelling spots to see the reef in all its glory. Swim with colourful coral and shimmering fish as you gaze upon this incredible natural wonder.
If snorkelling doesn’t take your fancy, you can simply relax on board, on the beach or take a ride in the glass-bottomed boat.
Enjoy a day at leisure today relaxing by the pool, strolling Four Mile Beach or wandering around the boutique stores of the town centre. If you'd like us to include some more tours today, there are so many to choose from - you could head out to explore the local waterfalls, visit Kuranda Village or enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise along the shore.
After breakfast, you’ll be collected by a private car for the 30-minute journey to Silky Oaks Lodge. This luxury boutique eco lodge is nestled in the depths of the Daintree Rainforest, hovering above the Mossman River below. After you’ve checked in, why not spend the remainder of the day soaking up the sounds of the rainforest whilst laying in your hammock in your private treehouse?
The next couple of days here are at leisure so you can be as active or relaxed as you wish. There are lots of complimentary activities available - you could enjoy guided rainforest walks with Kuku Yalanji First Nations guides, where you'll learn about the aboriginal connection to the forest or have fun on the e-bikes and mountain bikes on the local trails. There's also several activities to enjoy as added extras, including river drift snorkelling on the crystal-clear Mossman River.
If relaxation is the goal then Silky Oaks is a haven of serenity - enjoy peaceful yoga classes in the morning amongst the sounds of the rainforest waking up or head to the spa for a calming treatment amongst the lush scenery.
After check out, you’ll be taken by private transfer to the airport to continue your onward journey.
In northern Queensland, there are benefits to visits at any time of year. December to February signifies the ‘wet season’, which means wet and humid conditions, however, this also translates to very little wind and so excellent visibility in the water. The humidity drops in April onwards, which is considered the start of the ‘dry season’ so it can be a cooler temperature but a little windier. October and November are peak dive months.
