    Travel from Santiago to Mendoza on this 8-day wine tasting itinerary that takes you from the Chilean capital into Argentina's wine region.

    Start with a relaxed couple of days staying in a winery in the Chilean wine valleys before visiting the picturesque coastal town of Valparaiso and Santiago itself. This pretty seaside town is known for its colourful houses and many funicular railways which link the city’s steep suburbs – perfect for a day’s exploring.

    Next, you'll cross over the spectacular Andes mountain range from Santiago to Mendoza in Argentina, passing through ever-changing landscapes and lush, rolling vineyard estates.

    During your stay in Mendoza, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the country’s wine traditions and sample some world-class Argentinian wines, all the while enjoying your spectacular Andean surroundings.

      Itinerary in brief:

      Day 1 & 2:  Arrive in Santiago

      On arrival, you will be met at the airport and driven to your accommodation in a winery, just outside of Santiago.

      You'll have the rest of the day free to relax, explore and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and perhaps begin sampling some Chilean wine.


      Day 3: Wine Valley & Valparaiso tour

      Today we've included a full-day guided visit to the bohemian seaside city of Valparaiso, a charming town that's is enjoying a renaissance and attracts artists and cultural entrepreneurs. You will be guided through the city’s labyrinth of cobbled streets and colourfully painted buildings, before enjoying lunch in a cafe and take a ride on the funicular railway.

      Tonight we've included a stay in a beautiful boutique hotel high on the city’s hills.


      Day 4: Santiago

      Today, you'll be collected and driven back to Santiago - you can enjoy some stunning mountain views as you travel.

      The rest of the day is yours to explore. Why not take a stroll around to Plaza de Armas and districts like Providencia and Bellavista which offer a vast range of enticing shops and restaurants?


      Day 5: Santiago, Chile

      This morning, we’ve included a guided city tour to help you discover the significant sites and the history of the Chilean capital. In the afternoon, you could explore further by taking the metro out to Barrio Italia, a district known for its furniture and antique shops. Or head to the young and vibrant barrio Brazil for its excellent restaurants.


      Day 6: Santiago to Mendoza

      Today, you'll board a comfortable bus and make the scenic, six-hour trip across the Andes to Mendoza, Argentina to an altitude of around 3,300m. On arrival in Mendoza, you'll be met at the bus station and driven to a vineyard in either the Maipu or Chacras valleys, about 45 minutes from Mendoza. If you'd prefer to stay in the city speak to your consultant who can arrange this for you.


      Day 7 & 8: Mendoza

      Whether you’re staying in the city or a bodega ('winery'), this region is all about wines and enjoying them against the stunning natural backdrop of the Andes.

      Mendoza is one of the most attractive provincial cities in Argentina, and the countryside here is spectacular, dotted with its countless vineyards and bodegas. We’ve included a guided tour to some of the most famous bodegas of the region so you can taste some of its best wines, including the popular local Malbec.
