If you're catching a number of flights on different carriers, make sure you're aware of each airline's checked baggage and cabin baggage allowance.
Checked baggage (going into the hold)
Most airlines allow passengers to take either 20kg or 23kg per person in checked luggage (this is the bag that goes in the hold of the aircraft). Usually, you're only allowed to carry this in 1 piece of luggage. The average maximum dimensions for checked baggage are 90cm x 75cm x 43cm.
Cabin baggage (carry on)
For hand baggage carried into the cabin, you're usually restricted to a maximum of 7kg (in case items fall out of the overhead lockers). The average maximum dimension for cabin baggage to be is 23cm x 36cm x 56cm.
Baggage allowances for low-cost airlines
For low-cost airlines (including Air Asia, Scoot, Jetstar), checked baggage is usually restricted to 20kg. We can add additional weight allowance (in 5kg blocks) should you wish to take more. At the time of booking/rescheduling a flight, please let your consultant know if you would like a larger luggage allowance so we can arrange it for you in advance.
